Ethos Jewellery Accounting is a full 32 bit Windows XP application that will run on Windows 95, 98, Millenium, 2000, XP, and Vista. This state of the art software package has been developed specifically for the jewellery retail industry. It offers an extremely user friendly point of sale module and jewellery specific functions, such as valuation certificates, jewellery labelling, diamond stock control, repairs and on approval goods. In addition, a fully integrated accounting system allows for full financial statements, multiple currency transactions and multiple stock locations. Internet technology supports the sharing of information between multiple stores without the need of leased lines or other expensive communication lines.

Ethos has a simple, user friendly interface that allows the users to easily define stock items, price them and generate barcode labels. Various label formats are available and been designed specifically for jewellers in order to withstand ultrasound and steam cleaning, as well as handling by staff and customers. A digital image can be attached to every stock item and is available in all the modules of the software to ensure easy identification of the stock items. The selection feature supports extensive search queries that will locate styles quickly and efficiently.

A customized stone database allows the jeweller to define data specific to gemstones such as carat weight, dimensions, colour, clarity, cut and shape. The search utility and reports facilitates easy access and reporting on stone information.

Ethos Jewellery is fully integrated and valuation certificate terminology can be generated automatically at Point of Sale. These valuations are stored and may be retrieved at a future date.

The stock take utility is integrated with the labelling and barcode scanner. It facilitates initial stock on-take and periodic stock takes. Scanning stock onto the system is fast and reduces the possibility of human error.

The Point of Sale interface has clear prompts for every action and has been designed to function without a mouse. A touch screen may also be implemented where required. All the forms use the same standard icons and corrections or changes to any transaction can be easily implemented. This module interfaces with a barcode scanner, slip printer and cash drawer. As the barcode label is scanned, a digital image appears on the screen, reducing the possibility of human error. Multiple payments are supported and customer information may be captured during the Point of Sale transaction. Payments in more than one currency will also be accepted.

Ethos Jewellery caters for all repairs undertaken either in your workshop, or repairs despatched to supplier workshops. The user friendly graphical interface facilitates quick capture of repairs at Point of Sale. Included is repair tracking, quotations, an integrated customer database, barcode label generation and workshop order/quotation requisition.

All documents are generated from standard interface. This ensures a familiar environment for the user and reduces training time. Access rights to different modules in the software can be set through a security screen. The flexible document entry screen allows users to create defaults, accounts and stock masters on the fly. Journal entries can be posted directly on sales invoices, sales credits, purchase invoices and purchase credits. Amounts can be entered as either inclusive values to ensure that rounding errors are eliminated and statements balance to debtor and creditor records. A variety of invoice and other document formats are available and further customization upon request.

Multiple journal entries can be posted simultaneously. Corrections can be made after transactions have been saved. All ledger entries are posted in the background and transparent to the user. This provides an advanced real time accounting system.

The bank reconciliation screen displays both reconciled and un-reconciled transactions. A running balance corresponds exactly with your printed statements. This ensures fast, efficient and accurate bank reconciliation. Entries such as bank charges and interest can be posted directly from the bank reconciliation screen. Point of Sale receipts are grouped together in daily deposits to prevent multiple entries in the bank reconciliation screen. Any number of bank accounts may be maintained in any number of currencies.

A default currency and tax type can be defined for all Debtor and Creditor accounts. All documents for these accounts will automatically default to the predefined currency and tax type set up for the account. Prices on quotations and invoices will be converted from the stock master price and base currency based on the current rate exchange. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable will be maintained in the native currency of each Debtor and Creditor. Statements and Age Analysis reports are printed in the native currency of the relevant account. The Payments and Receipts interface allows payments and receipts for Debtor and Creditor accounts in any currency. R.O.E. input fields are automatically calculated when payments or receipts are made in currencies not native to the account or the destination bank account.

The software includes a built in catalogue editor that enables the user to quickly generate presentations, quotations and other selections in a variety of formats that make use of digital imaging. Detail stock level and stock movement reports can be printed that make use of digital images for the identification of popular styles and trends.

Numerous financial and statistical reports are available that will keep the user informed of all aspects of his business. Additional reports can also be tailor upon request.
